Counting Sea Service

Sea Service is measured in calendar days where any day that you were on a boat not tied to the dock, and had a position of responsibility (not a passenger), for four hours or more counts a one day of experience. Thirty days is one month and 360 days is one year.

To document this experience use the small vessel sea service form CG 719S provided by the Coast Guard. You must complete one form for each vessel you are claiming experience on. The form must be signed by the vessel owner or operator; for vessels that you owned provide government issued documentation of vessel ownership such as a copy of the Coast Guard Certificate of Documentation or the State Registration.

Let me know if you need assistance, I am always willing to help.
